Understand the roles of the two saw blades and how to choose table length, cutting angle and support for furniture panels.

Precision Sliding Table Saws:Main Blade, Scoring Blade and Cutting Capacity

01 / Panel preparation sets the standard for later operations

Accurately sized panels make subsequent edge banding and cabinet assembly easier to control. A precision sliding table saw supports the workpiece on a moving table while the operator guides the cutting operation. The LEADWOOD series offers table-length and cutting-angle configurations for different panel sizes and workshop needs. Selection should begin with your actual cut list and material mix.

02 / Main saw and scoring saw have different jobs

The main blade makes the principal cut through the panel. A scoring blade makes a shallow cut at the lower surface ahead of the main cutting action, helping control breakout on suitable faced panels when correctly adjusted. Blade choice, alignment and scoring width must match the material and main blade. A scoring unit is not a substitute for correct setup, sharp tooling and adequate workpiece support.

03 / Choose usable cutting length, not table length alone

The series lists sliding tables of 2.8, 3.0 and 3.2 m, corresponding to maximum cutting lengths of 2.7, 2.9 and 3.1 m. Check the largest cut required in your production against the usable cutting length. Also allow room for loading and unloading full panels. Long or wide workpieces need support that keeps them stable throughout the cut without forcing the operator into an awkward position.

04 / Straight cuts, bevels and the selected configuration

Available configurations include fixed 90-degree cutting and a 45–90-degree tilting arrangement. If your furniture includes bevel joints, specify the tilting version and request sample cuts at the angles you use most often. The published maximum cutting thickness is 80 mm; confirm the usable height for the selected blade and angle. Slotting or other operations require suitable tooling and the approved operating setup.

05 / Reference drive and blade specifications

The published main motor is 5.5 kW and the scoring motor is 1.1 kW. Main blade speeds are listed as 4,500/6,000 rpm and scoring blade speed as 8,000 rpm. Reference main blade diameter and bore are 300/30 mm; scoring blade diameter and bore are 120/20 mm. Always match blade ratings and dimensions to the machine and operation described in its manual.

06 / Evaluate the finished panel and the working routine

Check squareness, edge quality on both faces and repeatability across several identical parts. Include representative coated board in the trial. Review fence adjustment, stop positioning, dust extraction and access for routine care. Keep guards and protective equipment in their intended use, and isolate the machine before blade changes or maintenance according to the operating instructions. Ask for a floor-layout drawing before finalizing the installation.

Discuss your production requirements.

Send your material, workpiece drawings, required configuration and destination country to the LEADWOOD team. Reference specifications are subject to the agreed machine configuration.
