8180 L-Profile Door Edge Bander: Geometry, Capacity and Finish QualityIssuing time:2026-10-14 11:34 LEADWOOD / MACHINE TECHNOLOGY Learn how to evaluate L-shaped door profiles, edging compatibility and installation requirements for the 8180.
01 / Why the cross-section mattersAn L-profile door edge has a stepped geometry that must be considered as a complete cross-section. The LEADWOOD 8180 is intended for L-type door-panel edge banding. Its purpose is different from simply covering the exposed edge of a rectangular board. Before discussing output, establish the dimensions of the step, the panel material and the required visible finish. 02 / Specify the panel and the band togetherThe published reference range is 16–60 mm panel thickness, with a listed edge band thickness of 1 mm and band width of 18–65 mm. These figures should be checked alongside the actual L-profile drawing. A nominally compatible thickness does not by itself establish that a particular step or corner geometry can be processed. The edging material must also suit the profile and adhesive arrangement. 03 / What a good demonstration should showUse a sample that represents your real production, including its surface finish and edge preparation. Follow how the panel is supported, how the band contacts the different surfaces and how the final edge is finished. Inspect the inside transition, the outside corner and both panel ends. Look for incomplete bonding, unwanted surface marks or an inconsistent line where the edge meets the face. Keep an agreed reference sample for the selected configuration. 04 / Working range and handlingThe specification lists a minimum panel width of 150 mm and minimum length of 300 mm, with a reference conveyor speed of 9 m/min. Incoming panel consistency and stable handling remain important at any speed. Ask whether your shortest parts and largest door panels require additional support or a particular feeding arrangement. Plan the work route so the operator can receive finished panels without obstructing the infeed area. 05 / Installation referenceThe listed overall size is 7.8 × 1 × 1.95 m and machine weight is 3 tonnes. Total power is 26 kW, electrical supply is 380 V/50 Hz, air pressure is 0.6–0.8 MPa and the dust outlet diameter is 100 mm. The floor layout must also allow for electrical access, dust ducting, maintenance and panel movement. Confirm the final dimensions and connections against the ordered configuration. 06 / Build the enquiry around real jobsSend a dimensioned L-profile section, panel material, thickness range, minimum and maximum part sizes, edge band information and destination country. Ask for the installed processing-unit list, adhesive configuration, tooling supplied and changeover method. These details make it easier to compare quotations on the same basis and help establish whether the machine is appropriate for your door range. Discuss your production requirements.Send your material, workpiece drawings, required configuration and destination country to the LEADWOOD team. Reference specifications are subject to the agreed machine configuration. |
